This “Hidden Ridge Vineyard” was originally developed & planted in 1990 and has been mostly replanted in 2020. The 165-acre property boasts 47.4 of the highest quality vine acres in Sonoma County. This is a one of a kind Mayacamas Mountain Vineyard that cannot be reproduced with today’s limitations on slope and planting requirements. Slopes for parts of this vineyard are close to 50%, which helps stress the vines into creating exquisite fruit.
Immortal has received multiple 100-point scores from the grapes grown here with a few 99’s and 99+’s thrown in there, too. They have never received anything lower than a 94 for their second tier, with scores reaching 97 for an $85 bottle of wine.
This property harvests abundant water. All water is legally accumulated through vineyard runoff. It’s collected at the ends of the vine rows via an underground piping system which is collected in its first pond (11.7 acre feet). Then, a generator and pump moves the water from pond 1 to the larger collection pond (14.41 acre feet). All excess water overflows back into the Santa Rosa watershed. In the history of this vineyard, the owners have never not filled the two ponds past capacity, and the combination of the two ponds more than satisfies the vineyard’s water requirements.
